With the card Rune of Finding can you choose to draw and discard from the exploration deck to find an item, even if there are already pets in the exploration lineup?

You choose Item or Pet before searching. If there is already a card of the type you chose in the lineup you must chose that one. If there is not, you reveal cards from the top of the deck until you find a card of the type you chose. The other cards flipped are placed into the discard pile.
